The default port for inbound SMTP is port 25. However, some Internet Service Providers (ISPs) may block inbound traffic on this port. DuoCircle’s Email Gateway service offers flexibility by allowing the use of multiple alternative ports to relay mail. In this guide, we will walk through the steps to configure the appropriate SMTP port for your mail server in DuoCircle’s Email Gateway service.
Prerequisites
- Access to DuoCircle’s Admin Dashboard.
- The IP address or hostname of your mail server.
- Administrator access to your mail server to verify that the selected port is open.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Login to the Admin Dashboard
Navigate to the Admin Dashboard and log in using your credentials. - Go to "My Services"
In the Dashboard, click on Services >> My Services. - Select the Active Email Gateway Service
Choose the domain associated with your active Email Gateway service to manage it. - Add a Destination Server
Under Destination Servers, click on Add Destination Server.
Enter your mail server’s IP address or hostname. - Enter Destination Server Details
In the popup window, provide the Host or IP address of your Destination Server and set its priority. - Select the Destination Port
Click on Destination Port and select your preferred port number from the dropdown list. Available ports include: 24, 25, 26, 587, 2525, 10025, 52525.Important: Ensure that the selected port is open on your mail server to avoid any delivery issues.
